G2 Esports has been a part of the VCT Americas since 2024. Since then, the team has qualified for back-to-back VALORANT Champions (2024 and 2025).
Furthermore, in the 2025 season, the team was one of the best in the VCT circuit. They were the 3-peat champions of VCT Americas 2025. In the 2026 season, however, G2 hasn’t been at its best.

G2 Esports faced off against Paper Rex in the first match of the tournament. During this match, they were defeated with a clean 2-0 scoreline. They found their form again against Xi Lai Gaming, defeating the Chinese team 2-0.

T1 is one of the most popular teams in VALORANT esports. During the 2025 season, they won the VALORANT Masters Bangkok, which was the organization’s first international esports trophy in the FPS title.
In the VCT Pacific Kickoff 2026, they defeated RRQ 3-0 in the middle bracket finals to secure their spot at the VALORANT Masters Santiago.
In their first match in Santiago, T1 lost to Team Liquid with a 2-0 scoreline. In their eliminator match against EDward Gaming, T1 were out for vengeance. They defeated EDward Gaming 13-1 on the first map of the series and secured a 2-0 victory against the winners of VALORANT Champions 2024.

The last time G2 Esports faced off against T1 was during VALORANT Champions 2025. During that match, G2 Esports got their revenge and secured a 2-0 victory.
Going into their VALORANT Masters showdown, it’s quite a tough call to state which team is the clear favorites. According to betting odds, G2 Esports have the upper hand.
In our opinion, this match-up truly depends on the map veto and which team gets the advantage. For G2 Esports to have a better chance at victory, they should force the game onto Abyss or Haven, while banning maps like Bind and Split. These two maps are ones that T1 have had a high win rate during the VCT 2026 season, therefore, hold a massive tactical advantage.
Till now, we haven’t seen G2 Esports complete a reverse sweep this season. In our opinion, however, we feel that T1 will be able to defeat G2 Esports with a scoreline of 2-1.
