G2 esports qualified for the 2022 MSI playoffs, after PSG Talon lost to Royal Never Give Up in a crucial game to save their tournament life.
After going undefeated in the Group stage and winning the first four games of the Rumble stage, G2 esports were seen as favorites to win it all at the end of Day 2. However, it all went downhill from there as the European champions lost five games in a row and sit fourth (4-5).
However, EU fans can relax as RNG took care of business for them and eliminated PSG from the tournament. In doing so, RNG secured first seed heading into the playoffs.

Although PSG opened the Rumble stage 0-2, they came within reach of the playoffs (3-5 on Day 4) as they were a last day push away. However, they fell flat under pressure and were crushed by Evil Geniuses and RNG.
G2 is currently playing against EG for seeding as the North American team can still finish second. But mostly, they are playing to save EU’s pride and to avoid losing to NA on top of everything. Imagine what Jojopyun will tweet if NA > EU.
