Every match in the 2025 LEC Summer split has led to the upcoming grand final between G2 Esports and MKOI. Both teams have given it their all to get to this point, but with there only being one possible victor, the looming question is whether MKOI has what it takes to create an upset against the favorite to win, G2.
Betting tip: Despite how the last match between the two teams went, there’s a real chance that MKOI can cause an upset against G2 and come through on its long odds.
My G2 Esports vs MKOI pick: MKOI to cause an upset against G2 Esports at 7.08 odds at GG.BET.
G2 Esports has been on an impressive run ever since it finished fourth at the 2025 Esports World Cup. Despite just falling short in the Spring and Winter LEC splits, the team has gone undefeated in the ongoing Summer split, and much of that is thanks to the team’s support player Labrov improving in just a short amount of time. With his excellent initiations that set up plays for the rest of his team, there’s a good chance that the bottom lane may tilt toward G2’s side in every game of this series.
The last time the two teams met on the big stage, Elyoya struggled to make his presence known. That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore if the lower bracket final against Fnatic is anything to go by. Movistar KOI, as a team, only truly plays well when Elyoya is having a good day. His ganks and calls set the course of the match and determine whether MKOI can win against top opposition. With his form being excellent in the last series, there’s a good chance that he could lead MKOI to a win here without the match even going to a fifth game.
Myrwyn is an excellent top laner who has defeated G2’s BrokenBlade multiple times in the laning phase, and doing the same in this final will give MKOI another advantage. Caps and Jojopyun are fairly close in skill in the mid lane, and the laning phase there could go either way. With MKOI having an advantage on paper, the team may cause a repeat of what happened in the last split by upsetting G2 despite longer odds.

G2 Esports may have comfortably gotten past every match in the ongoing LEC split, but while the team was sitting on the sidelines and waiting for a second team to reach the grand final, MKOI was polishing its craft. The boost in confidence that MKOI will gain from beating Fnatic in the bottom bracket final may give MKOI what it needs to win here.
Our G2 Esports vs MKOI prediction: MKOI to cause an upset 3-1 @ 7.08 odds at GG.BET.
