The play-in stage of this year’s MSI is putting four teams against each other. Only two teams will move on to the official bracket stage while two teams will face elimination, meaning each match will be high-stakes. In the case of G2 Esports vs FURIA, the European representatives at G2 may have a significant advantage over their initial opponent.
Betting tip: G2’s international experience and overall higher skill ceiling may be more than enough for it to comfortably defeat FURIA.
G2 Esports has consistently been one of the strongest European League of Legends teams for many years now, and most recently has stood alongside the likes of First Stand runner-up Karmine Corp. Much of this is thanks to jungler SkewMond, who is easily one of the most consistent players on the team. His objective acquisition and strategic ganks usually give G2 the edge it needs to achieve victory, though it isn’t always enough.
BrokenBlade and Labrov both often leave much to be desired, sometimes being overshadowed by their better-performing teammates. Fortunately for G2, between Hans Sama’s excellent ADC skills and Caps’ synergy with the team’s jungler fromt he mid lane, 2019’s MSI champions have a good shot of taking down FURIA and progressing in the play-in stage.

Speaking of FURIA, the team doesn’t really have many recent achievements under its belt to inspire confidence in its ability to perform at this level. The team’s decisive 3-0 victory in the LTA South 2025 Spring final won FURIA its first-ever title, which is an impressive feat, but also showcases the team’s lack of international exposure. This may prove to be a problem against the much more experienced G2 squad.
Many of FURIA’s recent wins are thanks to the team’s jungler, Tatu, though that doesn’t mean the rest of the team is lacking. Guigo, Tutsz, Ayu, and JoJo are all fine players in their own right, and they all heavily contributed to FURIA steamrolling through much of the competition in the recent LTA South split. The looming question is how the team’s skill holds up when pitted against elite international opposition.
| G2 Esports | FURIA |
|---|---|
| BrokenBlade – Top | Guigo – Top |
| SkewMond – Jungler | Tatu – Jungler |
| Caps – Mid | Tutsz – Mid |
| Hans Sama – ADC | Ayu – ADC |
| Labrov – Support | JoJo – Support |
| Metric | G2 Esports | FURIA | Edge |

| Map winrate | 59% | 66% | FURIA |
| First blood | 55.9% | 56.3% | G2 |
| First Tower | 70.6% | 59.4% | G2 |
This will be the first time G2 Esports and FURIA meet on the big stage, primarily thanks to the fact that FURIA hasn’t had much opportunity at the international level.
G2 Esports was comfortably winning most matches in the LEC 2025 Spring split, though it stumbled in the end and lost the grand final to KOI.
FURIA dominated most of its recent matches. While it lost to PNG twice, the team came back stronger and comfortably found success in a grand finals rematch.

FURIA has done well to make it to the international stage, but the team’s lack of experience can’t be ignored given the level of competition here at MSI. G2 has participated in multiple MSI tournaments and even won the 2019 edition, showcasing the team’s great experience and confidence on this stage. FURIA’s nerves may falter in its first MSI match, giving G2 Esports the opportunity it needs to capitalize on FURIA’s questionable macro decisions to claim a clean victory.
Our G2 Esports vs Furia pick: G2 as the match winner 3-0 at 1.08 odds at GG.BET.
