During the group stage of VCT EMEA Stage 1, FUT Esports finished as the first seed in Group Alpha. Therefore, they received a bye to the upper bracket semifinals where they faced Eternal Fire.
FUT Esports didn’t start this match strongly, losing the first map. They weren’t done yet and showed their incredible mental prowess to win the next two maps and complete a 2-1 reverse sweep victory.
Team Vitality, on the other hand, had quite an interesting journey in the competition. Due to having a positive map difference, they finished third instead of fourth in Group Omega. In their first game, they defeated the favorites, Team Liquid, 2-1. In their next match against Fnatic, who were undefeated the entire event, they defeated them 2-0.
This loss resulted in Fnatic crumbling and getting eliminated from the tournament and failing to qualify for VALORANT Masters London.
This will be the first time we see FUT Esports and Team Vitality face off against each other this season.
Prior to this fixture, Team Vitality was on a three-game winning streak. Having defeated two favorites in Team Liquid and Fnatic, they are the next team to beat. If we look at the VALORANT betting odds on the websites, we can notice that Team Vitality are the clear favorites to win.
One player who can be credited for Vitality’s run of form is their ace duelist, Nikita “Derke” Sirmitev. In their last game against Fnatic, he was the MVP of the game. Seeing all these stats might make one feel that FUT Esports will be demolished, but that isn’t true.
In the group stage, they ended as the first seed with a 4-1 record. The only team that they lost to was Team Heretics in an incredible best-of-three.
There is a high chance that we will see the maps of Breeze and Ascent being vetoed from this series. On all the remaining maps, both teams, FUT Esports and Team Vitality, have shown mixed results.
Thus, we predict that this game will go to the third map. Both teams have proved in the past that they can win after going a map down. We believe that this will be a scrappy affair with Team Vitality coming out on top with a 2-1 win.
