Home crowd favorites didn’t get an easy draw, as FURIA have to take on Vitality in IEM Rio’s second semi-final.
Can Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo stop one of the best CS2 teams of all time from lifting yet another S Tier trophy? One thing’s for sure, he will do everything in his power.

FURIA’s 2026 form hasn’t been anything to write home about, with their only deep run transpiring at the beginning of the year at IEM Kraków 2026, where they finished second to their today’s opponents, Vitality.
Every single player on the roster has seen a dip in performance this year, especially Yuri “yuurih” Santos, who excelled as FURIA’s anchor in the back end of 2025.
Thankfully for his teammates, yuurih stepped up in this event and is currently the best-performing FURIA player at IEM Rio, after seven maps of play. They will need him to perform to this level in the playoffs if they are to go all the way.
This event will be the last opportunity for FalleN to lift an S-tier trophy in front of a packed-out Brazilian crowd. The legend recently announced that he will be hanging up the mouse at the end of the year.

CS2 fans watched in disbelief as Falcons managed to take it over the line and secured their second victory this year over Vitality, this time without a stand-in. While their 18-series win streak is done, Vitality are not.
The best team in the world didn’t let the loss get to them and showed up to the playoffs in full force. While NAVI was a difficult opponent on paper, being ranked second in the VRS at the time, Vitality rolled over them with complete ease.
Having to face FURIA in front of their home crowd might seem like a tougher challenge, but it’s nothing that the Vitality players can’t overcome. In 2026, they are the CS2 odds favorites in any scenario after all.

Although FURIA usually give Vitality a good game, it’s no surprise that the IEM Kraków winners are the CS2 betting favorites. However, there are some signs pointing to a possible upset.
The Brazilian crowds are known to be extremely loud and rowdy when their team is on the stage. The sound and the boos probably won’t affect Vitality, but they might give FURIA the energy boost they need to challenge the kings of Counter-Strike.
Also, Falcons have shown that Vitality are not unbeatable, at least in Rio. This again leans into the feeling of confidence that FURIA players will need in their semi-final matchup.
Taking into account all factors, FURIA have an outside shot of an upset, but it’s still Vitality’s game to lose, and they do so very rarely.
