The playoff stage of VCT Americas has started in full force. With the top eight teams now facing off to stand a chance to qualify for VALORANT Masters London.
Following their first-round loss, Furia will be facing off against NRG, the reigning VALORANT world champions, in the lower bracket. The team that loses this fixture will be eliminated from the tournament.

During the group stage of VCT Americas Stage 1 2026, both FURIA and NRG secured a top-four spot in their group.
Due to FURIA finishing in the top three, they were seeded in the upper bracket. In their first game against Leviatan, they lost 2-1. The reason for this was that the team losing their momentum completely on map two.
During the previous fixture, they won the first map quite comfortably. But following round seven of map two, things took a turn for the worse as FURIA just capitulated. They went on to lose 11 of the next 12 rounds.
In the decider map, they won just one round, losing 13-1. This was a disastrous performance from FURIA, nearly ending their hopes of qualifying for VALORANT Masters London.
Interestingly, the last time NRG faced off against FURIA was two weeks back in the group stage of VCT Americas Stage 1 2026. In that match, FURIA defeated NRG comfortably in a 2-0 victory.
During the previous match, NRG failed to win any pistol rounds against FURIA. Despite that result, the betting odds still show NRG as the favorites to win this series.
One player who stole the show during that match was Torogul “Alym” Baidyldaev from FURIA. In that series, he played Neon as the primary duelist on Neon and secured 42 kills with an ACS of 312. This was an MVP performance by the rookie against the world champions.
If NRG wishes to win this series, they will need to find a way to nullify or reduce Alym’s impact in this game. But the blueprint to do that was already showcased by Leviatan.
In their previous game, Alym had a negative KD and was the first player to die 13 times, the highest by any player in the series. NRG will need to dig deep and find strategies that have helped them be on a three-game winning streak.
Knowing the roster of NRG, they won’t be making the same mistakes as they did in the previous match. FURIA, on the other hand, has quite the mountain to climb mentally. They had been decimated in the previous match, and they will need to let go of that result.
If they do lose the first map, they must not crumble, which will result in them being eliminated from the tournament.
Our prediction for this game is that NRG will win 2-1. Due to what is on the line, this will be quite a scrappy game for both teams.
For FURIA to win, they must secure wins in both the pistol and anti-pistol rounds. If they fail to do that, NRG will build momentum and create an early lead to win the series.
