Are you wondering about the Fortnite lore? You’re not alone, as this has been one of the most interesting yet confusing parts of the game since virtually the beginning. Lore is often reserved, in video games anyway, for games that have a strong narrative or are single-player, story-driven titles. This game is different, though, and we’ve prepared an article for you where you’ll find all about the Fortnite lore explained.

The Zero Point in Fortnite lore essentially represents the Big Bang, with there being nothing and then something. This spawned the multiverse, which is how characters like Batman, Luke Skywalker, and Peter Griffin became a part of the Fortnite universe.
In Chapter 1, locations began popping up, largely to house people or serve as a way to study the Zero Point. Some more were added in subsequent seasons up until Season 4, which is when things really kicked into gear. Then, the meteor struck. This marked the destruction of Dusty Depot.
Hop Rocks arrived as a result, and Omega appeared intent on controlling this power. Carbide and some other heroes stepped up to stop him. While this was happening, the government began investigating the meteor, uncovering The Visitor within it.
A rift appeared in Season 5 (thought of by some players as the best of all Fortnite seasons). This rift also brought things from our world into Fortnite. A hotel from the real world and several other things from other worlds appeared. The crack formed by all the rifts in the sky eventually formed the cube, which was subsequently named Kevin.
After some time, Kevin fell into Loot Lake, dissolving into the water and making it bouncy. In Season 6, this prompted Loot Lake’s island to begin floating. Seven runes appeared across the island. The cube eventually destroyed itself, bringing on the Season 7 winter.
Using a piece of the cube, the Ice King created a massive blizzard version of himself. This allowed The Prisoner, who was trapped within the ice, to escape and begin gaining power in places like Lonely Lodge. In Season 8, The Prisoner converted the jungle into a volcano with this power.
Eventually, that volcano erupted, destroying Tilted Towers. This led into Season 9, when Neo Tilted was born. Soon after, a monster appeared from the ice, and a giant mech was created to fight it. This left the Zero Point exposed. In Season X, the Zero Point exploded, causing time to work in strange ways, reverting Dusty Divot and Tilted Towers to their old statures.

A black hole had opened up after a final rocket’s explosion, but new life was born out of it, including a new island. Two factions, E.G.O. and A.L.T.E.R., formed and began warring for control of the island. In Chapter 2 Season 2, Midas appeared, taking over E.G.O. Midas began working on a device to control The Storm.
This device went haywire and caused the island to flood in Season 3. In Season 4, the multiverse really opened up, as Galactus arrived to devour the world. Thor and the rest of the Avengers, including Iron Man and Groot, came to save the world. The Zero Point was thought to have been destroyed, but in Season 5, we learn that it was not the case.
The Zero Point began to destabilise. Jonesy called in Doctor Slone in Season 6. Jones’ actions prompted the arrival of The Foundation. The two of them, as well as a Looper, began working to contain the Zero Point. This affected most of the biomes on the island, turning them primal and sparking the Food Fight event. Aliens arrived in Season 7.
Slone was trying to help the island fight back against the aliens, but it turned out that she was in cahoots with them and was trying to take over the island, betraying everyone. The aliens were eventually defeated, giving way to more cubes and the arrival of The Cube Queen. Eventually, a climactic final battle was staged between Jones and his cohorts and The Cube Queen.

It is revealed that the Chapter 2 Island was the bottom side of the Chapter 1 Island, because when it flips, many C1 POIs return. The Seven, led by Dwayne Johnson’s The Foundation, are attempting to bring the Paradigm, a controversial figure, back to the island to continue their work. Eventually, the Imagined Order drills into the island to discover what’s inside, creating sinkholes.
In Season 2, as a resistance group forms to combat the IO, yet another doomsday device is built. Then, a simulation of the Collider’s use reveals that the island is on the brink of destruction, which convinces Brie Larson’s The Paradigm to return and save the island and the inhabitants. In Chapter 3 Season 3, the Reality Tree appeared on the island.
This causes weird things to happen to the island, and those left wondered if freeing the Zero Point was a mistake. Eventually, people disappear, leaving The Looper (you) and AMIE alone. In the ensuing season, Chrome begins to appear on the island. It consumes The Seven, except The Paradigm. The Herald arrives with no one to oppose him and begins using Chrome to take over the Reality Tree.

In Chapter 4, protectors of the rifts begin to rise up in order to ensure there are safe pathways to other worlds. But an enemy known as The Shapeless Man appears intent on destroying everything to get his hands on a rift. A battle ensues once again, and the result is the sky tearing open. It appears that the world is ending.
In Season 2, a saboteur appears on the island, and Evie attempts to reunite all of the various new syndicates on the island to try to stop them. This takes some time, but Evie is eventually successful. They work together to prevent a world-ending cataclysmic event brought on by a hidden syndicate. Earthquakes begin at the end of the season.
This leads to the collapse of the island’s centre. Slone returns when this happens, proving she was not dead after Chapter 2, as previously thought. Optimus Prime arrives on the island as well, and he attempts to convince the Looper that Slone alone knows the way forward. Slone is, meanwhile, investigating a strange artefact found in the jungle. Then, Slone uses the artefact to ward off Kado Thorne, a vampire who travels through time.
Slone and her companions steal Kado’s time-travel device, which sends Jones back in time to the events of Chapter 1. Things are off, though, from Kado’s time travel. The end of the chapter ensues as it always does, but this time, it sends the island into a whole new reality: Chapter 5.

Chapter 5 Season 1 marked the battle between the Underground and the Society over Peely’s kidnapping. The Looper eventually uncovers a mosaic depicting Cerberus from Greek mythology. When Pandora’s Box appears on the island, players everywhere work together to open it. Understandably, that backfires.
Zeus arrives and destroys the Society. Midas, who was in the Underworld, broke out of Hades’ grip and returned. Slowly, the Looper battles and defeats Zeus with some help. A sandstorm occurs after, engulfing the island for Chapter 3. This led to a Mad Max-style season where everyone had to get modified cars just to travel around. Megalo Don wants to control Pandora’s Box, but the Looper prevents this.
That allows Doctor Doom to try to take over. More heroes from the Marvel reality arrive to help the island survive Doom’s onslaught. The Underground helps out, eventually opening a rift that draws Doom and Pandora’s Box in and transports them out of this reality. However, in classic fashion, a broken Rift Beacon malfunctioned and sent the island back to Chapter 2. After those events, the island was once again sent into a new reality in Chapter 6.

The Artefact Slone had been working on crashlands on the island, sending out a shockwave that resurrects an ancient magic. Demons arrive, and the inhabitants of the island must fight back. They do successfully defeat this ancient magic, but at a cost. A portal opened up to send those demons back, but it brought in untold riches.
The Lawless Season, Season 2, began there, with characters like Big Dill and Fletcher Kane being introduced. Everyone was robbing vaults, and an underground black market arose. Crime runs rampant, and the Looper must round up several different criminals. All of this got the attention of a space station above the island, which brought in Star Wars characters. Another all-out war for the island occurs, with this catching the attention of Superman.
Superman arrives and, with the help of some other heroes, helps take down Daigo, an enemy bent on taking back over the island with the demons from Season 1. Obviously, Superman is victorious, and he leaves. But the aftermath of the battle left behind a piece of a severed tentacle, which attracted bugs to the island. That is where the story is for now, in Chapter 6 Season 4.
