Fortnite has a secret cheese shack, what could it mean?

Redditors found a mysterious shack full of cheese in Fortnite, and some fans wonder if it’s more than a funny easter egg.

Fortnite has no shortage of secrets, especially related to the ongoing chapters. Fortnite’s a cornucopia of references and easter eggs, from quotable NPCs to mysterious encounters with hooded strangers. Most of these references end up becoming real in a future chapter, such was the case with Doctor Doom. Of course, secrets in Fortnite don’t stay secret for long. Whether on Reddit, Twitter, or YouTube, anything that looks off the beaten path gets people talking and posting pictures.

That said, it’s not as fun as the potential teases this simple cheese shack could be about. Interestingly, cheese is a legitimate crafting resource in LEGO Fortnite, though its material functions did not carry over to the main game. Regardless, cheese does seem to tickle something in the funny bone of one of the developers.

Chapter 5, Season 4 of Fortnite is a collaboration with Marvel that saw multiple iconic heroes and villains return to the Fortnite story. The cheese could hint at a future Marvel character making its way to Fortnite as a surprise drop. Phil Coulson, one of the most iconic S.H.I.E.L.D. agents, has yet to debut in Fortnite despite his importance to the organization. His boss Nick Fury has already appeared as a skin in the battle royale game. How does all this connect to the cheese shack?

The small shack in the middle of nowhere may very well be a S.H.I.E.L.D. hideout. After all, with Doom taking over high-security facilities owned by the espionage organization, they need all the help they can get. That, or it’s just funny cheese.
