Fortnite gives the people what they want: Crows now drop loot

Fortnite SEason 8

It’s on-brand for the Fortnite community to focus on small, insignificant things around the map.

This was the case at the beginning of Season 8, when players noticed the new Crows flying around the map. You could kill them if you wanted to, and players did just that.

At first, Crows weren’t any different from the other wildlife in Fortnite. More and more, however, clips of players eliminating Crows gained upvotes on the r/FortniteBR subreddit.

In v18.10, the first patch of the season, Epic gave the people what they wanted. You can now find Purple and Gold Crows flying around the map. If you eliminate them, you have a chance to earn some tier-one loot like Epic/Legendary shotguns and ARs.

There are now Golden and Purple Crows flying around the map that drop insane loot!

It’s possible that Epic had already planned to add loot to Crows, but I think they did this in response to the virality of eliminating Crows during the first two weeks of the season.

Another hat tip to Epic for listening to the player base. It’s small, but it shows that the dev team are in tune with what really matters to players: stupid little meme stuff.
