Prediction marketplace FORKAST has announced it’s partnered with esports data provider Grid.gg to create prediction marketplaces specially tailored to esports.
Announced on FORKAST’s X/Twitter on Feb. 16 with January patch notes detailing the partnership with Grid.gg and other updates to their platform in the past month, the new collaboration will allow users to trade on what’s actually happening in a match, rather than just simple pre-game predictions and outcomes.
In practice, what this new collaboration between Grid.gg and FORKAST means is that users now have live match widgets and real-time prediction markets which will allow users to make quick trades based on in-progress matches.
Esports prediction markets arrived almost in-line with the rise to prominence of marketplaces like Polymarket, Kalshi, and FORKAST. However, most of the time, these esports markets find themselves falling into the Sport or Gaming categories, and focus on simple win or lose predictions, rather than anything more substantial or lucrative.
With FORKAST’s deeper dive into the space, partnered with Grid.gg, users will have a chance to actually engage with matches as they happen, in Counter-Strike, League of Legends, and Dota 2. And they’ll be able to do more than just predict an outcome and wait for the match to end.

FORKAST explained that they’re also setting the stage for incorporating their predictions into co-streamer broadcasts:
“Markets are better with context, and streamers are a huge part of how people discover and engage with esports. This month we laid the groundwork for streamer sidebars and profile embeds, the structural pieces that will let us surface streamer info, achievements, and related content right alongside the markets they’re connected to.”
While prediction markets for traditional sports, and esports, are in their infancy, this looks like a move in the right direction. The best betting markets in esports have always gone deeper than simple win or lose bets, and instead dived into prop markets and in-game achievements. Now prediction markets, with FORKAST leading the charge, are catching up.
