It’s coming to that time of year when everyone is tired of the previous game and starts to ask: “When will Football Manager 2023 release?”
Let’s try to answer that question, as well as a few others.
Football Manager 2023’s release date has just been revealed as November 8, 2022.
The game will be available on Xbox, Epic Games store, Steam, and Mobile.
For the first time in years, Football Manager 2023 will be coming to PlayStation consoles as well.
Similar to the release date of Football Manager 2023, prices have not yet been announced.
If we use Football Manager 2022 as the starting point, the game cost £39.99 in the UK and $54.99 in the US. It is unlikely that these prices will change.
In previous years, there has also been a 10% discount as a pre-order bonus. The same can potentially be expected again, but don’t get your hopes up.
Football Manager 2023 Xbox Edition and Football Manager 2023 Touch Edition can also be expected to be released at the same time. These are slightly less complex versions of the game and typically retail at a lower price because of it. They both retailed at £29.99 in the UK and $39.99 in the US.
Another benefit of preordering Football Manager is that players typically get access to a 2-week beta.
This beta releases two weeks before the official release, and players are able to carry over their beta save into the main game.
Although there won’t yet be any listings, when the release date is announced, Football Manager 2023 will be available in numerous places.
Steam, the Epic Store, the Microsoft Store, or the official Sega Store will always be the go-to sites to purchase the game.
However, deals can typically be gotten on sites such as fmscout, or sortitoutsi.
The main game of Football Manager is available on PC/Mac. Football Manager Touch is available on Nintendo Switch.
Football Manager Xbox Edition is available with an Xbox Game Pass, as well as to buy from the Microsoft Store.
After a multi-year absence, Football Manager will be available for PlayStation 5 players.
There are no new features for Football Manager 2023 that have been announced yet. Although that doesn’t mean we aren’t free to speculate.
For the past couple of years, Juventus have had a deal with Konami for licensing rights to eFootball. They have recently announced that is set to end.
This change should hopefully see Sports Interactive able to use the Old Lady’s name within their game again, as during that deal they have been named Zebre. While players have been able to play as Juventus they will have had to use an external database in order to have them actually named as such.
Another feature fans can look hopefully look forward to upon the release of Football Manager 2023 is the development of Women’s Football within the game, as promised by Sports Interactive last year.
Their statement remained unclear as to whether the Women’s database will be ready in time even for Football Manager 2023. Hopefully, there will be some communication regarding its development.
