NRG has shared a video announcing that Pujan “FNS” Mehta is leaving as the popular player just doesn’t want to play anymore.
FNS is one of the best-known faces in Valorant esports. He started his career playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive but then moved on to Riot Games’ tactical shooter. The popular player has played with various teams throughout his pro career and returned to NRG Esports after taking a short break. He was released from his contract by NRG in 2023 after playing for three years with the team. This led FNS to join G2 Esports as a streamer.
FNS saw success as a content creator, but it was ultimately just a short break from competitive play as he returned to NRG a year later. He rejoined NRG in 2024 alongside Sam “s0m” Oh. In the same year, FNS announced that 2025 would be the last year he competed in pro Valorant. NRG’s announcement made the professional Valorant player’s words come true, as FNS is retiring from competitive play.
FNS stated that he doesn’t want to compete anymore as he doesn’t have the will for it, which is why he has now announced his retirement from the Valorant esports.
Rumors were rife about NRG trialing other players to take over as in-game leader from FNS for the VCT Americas Stage 2. Nothing was concrete at the time but fans were content with most alleging the player wouldn’t actually be dropped.

Those assurances were proven wrong as FNS has stepped down from NRG and announced his retirement from Valorant competitive esports altogether. He stated that he decided to stop because this is the first time he’s wanted to outright quit playing through his entire lengthy pro career. The pro player also said that losing repeatedly has played a part in helping him decide he’s done.
FNS went on to say that it isn’t just about losing matches, but how his team lost. He said he’d just realized it was time to move on. He highlighted his love for the esport by stating he would do it all over again in switching to Valorant if given the chance. The Valorant pro expressed he has no regrets and requested fans continue to support both him and his former team.
FNS expressed his gratitude by thanking fans for their support over the years and explained that he has no hard feelings with any of his teammates, wishing them all well in their careers. Fans’ reaction to the news has been divided, with some saying FNS made the right choice while others wonder what his next step will be after leaving pro Valorant behind in his retirement.
