Fnatic benches Humanoid prior to 2025 LEC Summer Split start

Humanoid Fnatic

Famed esports organization Fnatic has announced that mid laner Marek “Humanoid” Brázda is being benched and won’t be a part of the Fnatic LoL roster for the 2025 LEC Summer Split.

Humanoid is a professional League of Legends player who has been part of Fnatic’s LoL roster since 2022. He has displayed his skills throughout the years and has become a vital part of the team. The player has managed to remain largely consistent with his performance in domestic and has helped Fnatic reach the LEC finals, but that hasn’t been enough. Fnatic has been unable to secure any significant wins, particularly outside of domestic regular season play, and has faced a series of critical losses to rival teams.

Humanoid has been heavily criticized for being unable to perform well in the team’s biggest matches where his skills are most put to the test. This has become an issue for the team’s morale, and Humanoid has even stated in interviews that his motivation has been affected along the way. Fnatic has now announced that it’s moving Humanoid to the inactive roster before the start of new split.

Humanoid out, Poby in for 2025 LEC Summer Split

Fnatic announced on X that Yun “Poby” Seong-won has officially been signed for the team’s LoL roster and will replace Humanoid for the 2025 LEC Summer Split.

Fnatic tweeted that the team has spent weeks analyzing the potential move before deciding to move Humanoid to the inactive roster. The esports British organization made clear that the LoL roster was undergoing changes before the summer, and while Humanoid has been a part of Fnatic for approximately three years, his performance in major tournaments hasn’t been what the team has needed. This is also why not many of the squad’s fans are surprised to hear about Fnatic’s decision.

Fnatic has had trouble with G2 in multiple LEC finals, with the team failing to defeat its biggest rival. Fnatic placed second in the LEC 2024 Season Finals after losing to G2 1-3. The same was the case in LEC 2024 Summer Split, with G2 defeating Fnatic 0-3. Fnatic lost again to G2 in 2024 LEC Spring and in the LEC Season Finals. Humanoid hasn’t fared well against G2 and those issues may have chased him out of the team’s active roster, particularly combined with international results that included multiple high-profile losses to Team Liquid in 2024.

In another tweet, Fnatic thanked Humanoid for the player’s contribution to the team since 2022. The organization referred to Humanoid as “an integral part” of the team’s LoL roster and said future plans for the player will be shared later.

There were multiple reports that Fnatic has reached an agreement with T1 Esports Academy player Poby to replace Humanoid, and Fnatic has since officially announced that Poby has joined the team’s LoL roster as a mid-laner.  The team reportedly considered BK ROG’s Šimon “OMON” Říháček and Misa Esports’ Oh “Callme” Ji-hoon, but ultimately decided to go with Poby.

Fnatic’s LoL roster:

  • Óscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz Jiménez (Top)
  • Iván “Razork” Martín Díaz (Jungle)
  • Yun “Poby” Seong-won (Mid)
  • Elias “Upset” Lipp (ADC)
  • Mihael “Mikyx” Mehle (Support)
