Apex Legends players that were once excited about E-District are now complaining that the new battle royale map doesn’t have enough loot despite a loot map that says otherwise.
E-District is a sprawling map focused on vertical gameplay with a wide range of buildings and structures to run between or on top of. Inspired by Shibuya, the POIs had fans quite excited to try it out, enticed by the neon cityscape and abundance of vibrant locations, like a boat-turned-arcade and food stall-filled street market.
While it boasted many opportunities for dynamic gameplay, players have noticed one massive issue with the loot.
Despite positive reception for E-District’s aesthetic, Apex Legends players are claiming that the map has a massive need for more loot.
On Reddit, a player recently exclaimed that they “can’t find a f—ing gun.” This started yet another conversation about E-District’s lack of loot, with players noticing a lot of empty spaces in buildings as well as vacant busses and bridges that could have loot boxes or ground loot to grab.
The lack of loot has forced a lot of teams to leave POIs far too often as they chase down much-needed weapons, ammo, and health. One gamer said they searched an entire building and only came across five to six items. Some buildings, even ones with three floors, appear to have no weapons at all.
Said one player: “My group played for a few hours last night and it seemed like Loba was basically mandatory just to get enough ammo, let alone attachments and guns themselves.”
Sometimes this hasn’t even been enough, since many loot bins don’t seem to have any weapons in them at all. Others have to craft ammo throughout the entire game, which is even more concerning.
While Apex Legends players are understandably concerned about the loot distribution on E-District, the loot map should help them finally find a gun.
Developers did confirm that the spawn rate of high-tier loot has been reduced this season but players feel that there’s less loot, period. This could be due to developers hoping to create less chaos at the start of the battle. Usually, all players land in similar zones that are known to have much more loot. This way, players have to run from location to location, forcing more aggressive gameplay and interactions while reducing so much craziness at the start.
Interestingly enough, however, it appears that there are more loot spots in E-District than previous maps. ApexStatus shared an interesting image on X that showed all ground loot spawns and loot bin locations. Is the issue that the loot that drops isn’t useful enough? Or maybe it’s not spawning fast enough?
Replied one player: “There are a lot of possible ‘loot spawns’ but I consistently walk into a building with loot blankets that are all completely empty or have 20 heavy ammo, a nade, and a backpack. Guns feels like they just don’t spawn at the same rate as they used to pre Season 22.”
Right now, the map feels empty to a lot of players. While it’s pretty to look at, there are many buildings that can’t be entered and a lot of locations that don’t seem to have any loot. For now, players feel like they have to run around the map without anything on them in order to find even a janky loadout.
