I’ve been asking for Epic to add competitive cosmetics to Fortnite for years.
Finally, three chapters and four years later, we’re getting our first competitive-related end-of-season cosmetic: a weapon wrap.
Sure, this isn’t the biggest news in the world, but it’s literally all that Epic needed to do.
Fortnite was one of the only games where there was no way to display your rank once a season ended. As you can see, it’s as easy as a weapon wrap.
Reach Contender League Division 1 or above in Arena to earn a wrap at the end of the season based on your final Division level! pic.twitter.com/L1TIBsspqd

Now, all that’s left is for them to is change the competitive ranking system. It’s been scuffed for a while. I still don’t think it’s worth grinding Arena unless you plan to play in tournaments.
For me, this is all too little, too late. I don’t even play the regular version of Fortnite anymore; much less Arena.
Unless they add a Zero Build Arena – which I think they will – I’m out on competitive Fortnite, regardless of the associated cosmetics.
