Thomas “Temperrr” Oliveira, one of FaZe’s co-founders, said that his organization tried to poach Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov from G2.
Though Temperrr didn’t reveal exactly when FaZe tried to sign m0NESY, it was at the time he was leaving G2.
“It was [during] the transition he was leaving G2,” Temperr said in an interview with Erik Shokov from CYBERSHOKE.
Temperr also brought Maksim “kyousuke” Lukin’s name “many times”, but the move didn’t come to fruition because of “money or something.”
Both m0NESY and kyousuke ended up joining Falcons in separate periods this year, while FaZe loaned Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev from Natus Vincere just for IEM Dallas and the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
Since then, FaZe reinstated Helvijs “broky” Saukants to the lineup, and more recently, replaced Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski with Jakub “jcobbb” Pietruszewski.

These moves left many fans wondering how FaZe handles roster changes, given that their players have more input than usual. And, Temperr revealed that the IGL Finn “karrigan” Andersen is the one who makes the final decision.
I mean, I can bring names up, but at the end of the day, it’s up to who karrigan thinks is the best. I feel like it’s really ultimately because it’s his team. He’s the captain, it needs to make sense for him.
We can bring stuff up to him and he can be more open to things if we bring it up to him, but he’s been doing this for almost 20 years. Karrigan has been on the scene for 20 years now. And we trust his judgement over our own as far as like what works and what doesn’t.
Karrigan has been calling the shots since he returned to FaZe in February 2021. Since then, the veteran helped the organization build a roster good enough to win several tournaments, including the PGL Antwerp Major and IEM Cologne in 2022.
