FaZe send Evil Geniuses to lower bracket at IEM Cologne

Olofmeister

Closing out the first round of play-in games, FaZe won an anticipated matchup against Evil Geniuses. FaZe will face Complexity next, with a spot in the main tournament on the line.

In a highly entertaining game on Mirage, EG had the best start. The American team won the first four rounds before FaZe answered by winning three rounds in a row themselves.

The first half remained competitive from that point forward, with both teams trading rounds. This resulted in a close 8-7 score at halftime in favor of FaZe.

After once again conceiving the first four rounds of the half, FaZe finally took control of the game. A solid performance on the terrorist side from olofmeister helped secure the 16-12 victory for FaZe.

Complexity survive Vici challenge, OG dispatch TeamOne

FaZe will meet Complexity in the next round of the upper bracket. The blameF lead team struggled in the first half against the lower-rated team Vici but eventually restored order to set up the game against FaZe.

OG had a more convincing performance against TeamOne, with mantuu being the highest-rated player on the team. The Polish AWPer managed an impressive 1.83 HLTV rating. OG will meet BIG in the next round.
