FaZe Clan continues to look strong at PGL Cluj-Napoca, but it faces a stiff test against surging Team Falcons in the semifinals of the playoffs.
Team Falcons and its murky ownership has been one of the bigger stories in Counter-Strike. So too has the team’s lack of success. The organization has brought in a rotating cast of CS superstars and elite talents, ranging from Kenneth “kennyS” Shrub to Peter “dupreeh” Rasmussen to Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev.
Despite that, the biggest achievement to the team’s name was a top-four placement at IEM Katowice 2024. While that’s a feat, it hasn’t won a significant tournament and has mostly peaked as “good European team.” PGL Cluj-Napoca may be a coming out party for the team’s new roster, though.
A moneyline bet on FaZe Clan runs at roughly 1.6, while Team Falcons stands at about 2.3. This means that FaZe Clan is the clear favorite, but there’s still a solid return when betting on the team’s victory.
FaZe is entering the match on a bit of a hot streak. After alternating wins and losses with the signing of Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, the team has hit its stride in Romania. It blasted through the group stage with a 3-0 record and advanced to the semifinals by dominating SAW. This is a great performance from FaZe Clan’s overhauled roster:
Team Falcons hasn’t looked as exceptional as FaZe Clan, but it has looked quite strong in PGL Cluj-Napoca. The team went 3-1 in the group stage, beating FlyQuest, Astralis, and MOUZ while taking a loss to Pain Gaming. It advanced through the first round of the playoffs by beating Eternal Fire. This is the best showing from the new roster thus far:
FaZe and Team Falcons have faced off four times in the past, with FaZe winning every time. However, a more apt head-to-head would be FaZe with Heroic, as Falcons rebuilt its team around Heroic’s core. Heroic actually beat Falcons twice in 2024, albeit in best-of-one series. Still, there’s no real head-to-head history for these two teams.
There’s cause for hope when it comes to Team Falcons, which offers a strong return for bettors. However, FaZe Clan should still be viewed as the decisive favorite. Though Falcons finding its footing is one of the biggest stories of the event, that applies to FaZe Clan to some degree as well. Here are the best bets, with that in mind.
Team Falcons winning has solid odds, above 2.0 across all bookmakers. Though FaZe Clan is the team that should be favored, believers in Magisk and the new Team Falcons don’t have to get fancy here. The 2.3 line is a solid one and while betting against FaZe Clan isn’t recommended, it’s easy to do so with the team being a strong favorite more often than not.
FaZe Clan wins much more often than not, but it doesn’t necessarily do so quickly. Against top-notch competition across both IEM Katowice 2025 and PGL Cluj-Napoca, FaZe Clan’s wins against top-10-ranked competitors have typically gone long. Though FaZe Clan winning at 1.5 is a decent value, winning a marathon on a specific map offers a better value.
There are still questions regarding whether Falcons qualifies as “top-notch competition” and FaZe Clan is good enough to break off a 13-4 win against the likes of Eternal Fire. Still, this provides some decent value for those wanting to bet on FaZe Clan.
