FaZe Clan has parted ways with Filip “NEO” Kubski after a period of inconsistent results for the Counter-Strike 2 team.
With this change, FaZe might be looking to bring in one of the best CS2 coaches to steady the ship ahead of the upcoming Major.

NEO joined FaZe in July 2023 after their coach at the time, Robert “RobbaN” Dahlström, decided to step down and move into a different position. He had big shoes to fill, as FaZe won virtually everything with the Swede behind them.
His addition to the team also coincided with the transition from CS:GO to CS2, so it was difficult to predict how the scene was going to shake up. Thankfully, FaZe took to CS2 like a fish to water, quickly becoming one of the best CS2 teams.
With NEO as coach, FaZe went on to win IEM Sydney 2023, the first CS2 event, and went on a run of eight consecutive grand final appearances, winning four of them.
Unfortunately, after that successful spell came a downturn in results. Apart from two Major grand final appearances, FaZe have failed to meet any reasonable expectations for a team with their stature within the scene.
Something had to change, and making a coach change is the simplest way to go, considering the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) Major roster locks are right around the corner.

In its post on X, FaZe stated that the organization’s analyst, Dominik “GruBy” Świderski, will be standing in as the interim head coach for upcoming CS2 events, as they evaluate their options for the future.
This could mean that FaZe doesn’t have a replacement lined up right away, but that’s not a certainty. There have been rumours that Ashley “ash” Battye, former GamerLegion coach, could be the one replacing NEO.
As for the Pole, he is yet to publicly comment on the situation. It’s not clear whether he wants to pursue another coaching position at this time. However, his experience and calm presence would certainly benefit many teams.
Fgans will get to see FaZe without NEO for the first time at BLAST Open Rotterdam 2026 very soon. It will be interesting to see if there are any differences in their gameplay so soon after the change.
