2025 has been an underwhelming year for NaVi. The team hasn’t been bad by any measure. It’s still consistently making the playoffs in every tournament it competes in, but the team has gone from winning some of the biggest tournaments of 2024 to settling into an Aurora Gaming or The MongolZ position.

It’s not a bad position to be in within esports and it’s not a bad thing when it comes to Counter-Strike betting. But it seems that NaVi is a team that wants to win championships, not just being steadily ranked in the top 10. It’s commendable, but it does make it difficult to figure out what’s coming, at least in the short term.

The new addition to NaVi’s roster is Drin “makazze” Shaqiri, who was promoted from NaVi Junior. The developmental squad has enjoyed a very strong 2025 on the regional circuit, winning multiple CCT European Series events as well as smaller tournaments such as YaLLa Compass Qatar and HellCup 11. makazze was the top performer of the team but it’s unclear how well he’ll be able to perform.

He has a familiar story in that his individual talents have translated to success in tier-two tournaments, but it’s unclear whether he’ll be able to convert that into success at a higher level of competition.

Will he be able to pull it off for NaVi? Maybe. But you shouldn’t bet on him doing so against a particularly sharp FaZe Clan quite yet.
