Twitch unbanned Nick “FaZe Lacy” Fosco after his channel was temporarily banned from the platform, and the reason for the lifting of the ban has some people upset.
FaZe Lacy is an American streamer who is popular on Twitch for his Fortnite and Just Chatting streams. Lacy has amassed over 1.1 million followers on Twitch and is a member of the reboot FaZe clan. The streamer is infamous for going viral for his over-the-top reaction streams and occasional fake beef with other popular streamers.
Now Lacy is in the news because Twitch unexpectedly banned his channel. Although the streamer’s channel was quickly unbanned, some fans are upset at how Lacy got his channel back. Viewers claim that Twitch has shown unfair favoritism by unbanning Lacy in such a short amount of time.
Some people claim that Twitch has shown favoritism by unbanning Lazy after the direct intervention of Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.
Fellow FaZe member Jason “Jasontheween” Thanh Nguyen claimed on stream that he called Twitch CEO Dan Clancy to get Lacy unbanned. Lazy was apparently unbanned a mere three minutes after Jasontheween talked to Dan Clancy.
The content creator appreciated both Twitch and Jason for helping him to resolve the issue and bringing his channel back online so quickly. The streamer claimed that the ban wasn’t going to be lifted until everything was resolved, but Jason’s call to Dan Clancy seemed to help. Lacy stated that he received calls from Twitch staff and that they helped him to resolve everything.
According to StreamerBans, Lacy was unbanned from Twitch within 36 minutes of getting banned from the platform. This development has caused fans to become upset and they’ve accused Twitch of showing favoritism towards the streamer and to FaZe Clan as a result.
Many viewers have taken to social media platforms to express their displeasure with Lacy being unbanned without due process just because Dan Clancy was called. Twitch has previously been called out multiple times for being unfair to various streamers. Fans believe this incident happening publicly proves they are right in thinking that the platform’s appeals system is broken.
Twitch banned Lacy after his channel was hacked and the hacker posted inappropriate content.
On January 5, 2025, FaZe Lacy’s Twitch channel was banned for the third time. Twitch is known for not giving explicit reasons for banning a channel and this case was no different. However, viewers shared why the streamer was banned, explaining that his channel had been hacked and that the hacker was sharing inappropriate pictures.
Lacy also tweeted a confirmation that his Twitch channel was banned due to it being hacked. The streamer elaborated that since he had no control over the channel he couldn’t end the stream. He apologized to his viewers for their having to view the “disgusting stuff” and stated that he was working on fixing the issue.
Viewers appreciated that Twitch took prompt action to take down the channel before more people had to see the inappropriate content. Some fans requested Twitch unban the streamer because his channel was hacked and he didn’t break the platform’s ToS. But after Lacy was unbanned from Twitch, others spoke out against it.
