League of Legends Esports and Mercedes-Benz has officially welcomed Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok into the Hall of Legends, Riot’s new hall of fame for League of Legends.
In a press release from LoL Esports, Riot announced that Faker will be honored with an in-game event that will include both earnable and purchasable cosmetic items. Mercedes-Benz will also present him with a piece of art that highlights some of his career accomplishments. The German car company will also present Faker with a custom Mercedes-AMG SL 63.
With a massive trophy cabinet and plenty of status, Faker is the obvious choice to start the Hall of Legends.
Faker, sometimes known by the moniker “The Unkillable Demon King,” has dominated the game for years as the mid laner for T1. Over his career, he has earned 10 LCK titles, 2 Mid-Season Invitational titles, and 4 World Championships.
“Faker is truly the most iconic and influential figure in League of Legends and esports history. His name is synonymous with excellence in LoL Esports, and he has rightfully earned his place as our very first Hall of Legends inductee,” said John Needham, president of esports at Riot Games.
The Faker event will highlight different accomplishments throughout his career with cosmetic items, collections, and skins. They will all be themed after Faker himself. Riot will release more information on the event in the future.
Faker may be the first name in the Hall of Legends, but the committee could induct many other notable players in the future. Some names are already in solid contention to join the club.
The list of players who could be future inductees is long. Other notables including Luka “Perkz” Perković, Heo “ShowMaker” Su, Song “Rookie” Eui-jin, and many others.
