Explaining vtuber drama between Bao the Whale and Sinder

An artist has accused Sinder of manipulating them and Bao the Whale has spoken out against the vtuber, effectively creating a new round of drama in the vtuber industry.

Bao the Whale and Sinder have both been in the vtuber scene for some time now and the duo has always appeared to be friendly with one another. They’ve also collaborated together while displaying that there was no bad blood between them. Recent developments suggest this is no longer true today, and allegations have been made against Sinder for badmouthing other vtubers including Bao.

An artist named Nanoless has come forward with multiple accusations and claims that Sinder manipulated her and caused her to stop working with other vtubers. Bao supported Nanoless and claimed that she thought Sinder was her friend but that she was wrong. Other vtubers seemed shocked by Sinder’s actions and have expressed their support for Nanoless and Bao.

Nanoless accused Sinder of having a blacklist of vtubers

Nanoless claims that whenever a vtuber from Sinder’s blacklist would reach out to have a commission done, Sinder would ask the artist not to do the work for them.

The artist tweeted her grievances with Sinder and shared a 19-page Google Document listing all her accusations against Sinder and her manager Redacted, which largely sparked the current drama also including Bao. The artist also shared screenshots where Redacted was badmouthing Bao and claiming she stole their YouTube editor.

Nanoless claimed Sinder and her manager tried to put her off from working with Bao by telling her the vtuber overworks her editors. The artist stated that Sinder and her manager would manipulate her by claiming that if she made more models her work would become less valuable as a result. Nanoless said Sinder wanted her to work exclusively for her but without paying for that exclusivity.

She further stated they asked her to not take on new clients and not work with a specific vtuber ever again. Nanoless referred to Sinder and Redacted together and claimed they knowingly manipulated her, but these screenshots were of messages with Redacted and the ones with Sinder didn’t outright show anything quite so negative.

In the screenshots, Redacted was seen badmouthing other big vtubers like Shylily after the artist made a model for her. Nanoless said that she backed out from working for Sinder after being overworked and all of the ongoing drama affecting her mental health.

Bao refutes all of Sinder’s claims

Bao accused Sinder and Redacted of collaborating with her while trying to sabotage her by using fake allegations.

In her tweet, Bao acknowledges that the majority of the messages were from Redacted but claims she knows how the vtuber and her manager operate, likely hinting at the involvement of Sinder. Bao states that Nanoless was working on a model in 2024 but didn’t finish it and that she now understands why that had happened.

The vtuber went on to refute the allegation of stealing Sinder’s YouTuber editor. She claimed that the editor works mutually for both her and Sinder, but that Bao only gets minimum work done from him because she knows he’s busy with Sinder’s channel.

Bao stated that friends don’t actively try to sabotage their friends and that she doesn’t know what she did to deserve such attention from someone who she had considered a friend. Other vtubers including Matara Kan and Shylily replied to Bao’s tweet and offered their support.

Sinder hasn’t replied to the accusations directly but the vtuber tweeted that Redacted will no longer manage her activities. She went on to say that she’ll make a full statement on the situation later.
