Since its first edition of the Esports World Cup back in 2024, the tournament has only gotten bigger and better, with more than 20+ games having their tournaments within the 6-week event. With the conclusion of the Esports World Cup a few days away, the EWC Foundation has announced its next tournament: the Esports Nations Cup. The first event will be held in November 2025.
Back in the early 2000s, the World Cyber Games took place in South Korea. Back then, it was touted to be the Olympics of Esports. Since then, we have seen multiple games have their own esports landscape. Until 2024, we had not seen multiple esports tournaments take place at one major event. That all changed when the Esports World Cup was announced. The tournament would consist of a mix of all PC, mobile, and console esports tournaments. The 2025 season of the tournament had a total prize pool of over $70 million.
In a post on all their social platforms, the Esports World Cup Foundation has announced the launch of the Esports Nations Cup. The first edition of this tournament will take place in November 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Unlike the Esports World Cup, players within the Esports Nations Cup will be representing their countries on the global stage. The first edition of the Esports Nations Cup will be co-developed by publishers like Electronic Arts, Krafton, Tencent, and Ubisoft.
The Esports Nations Cup is slated to feature national teams from regions like North America, South America, Europe, MENA, Africa, Asia, and South East Asia & Oceania. It must be noted that there will be both team and solo player tournaments during this event. The Esports Nations Cup will be hosted once every 2 years with a rotating host model.
Taking a look at the publishers that will be partnering for the ENC, we believe the games that will be a part of the Esports Nation Cup are as follows:
As we get closer to November 2026, we will get more information on the countries that will be a part of the event.
