Every League of Legends champion featured in Arcane

arcane

The hit show Arcane returns in November 2024, with a handful of League champions returning or making their on-screen debut.

Arcane first aired in November 2021 in three acts with eight different League of Legends champions. Critically acclaimed, Netflix renewed the show for a second and final season with more champions teased. Off-screen, Riot released a select few Arcane-specific skins during the course of the first season. Others will either get their skins this season or not at all, though certain skins may be likely depending on how the plotlines run.

Here are all of the League champions featured in the first season of Arcane, as well as both confirmed and tentative champions for Season 2.

Current champions in Season 1

Jayce

League champion Jayce in Arcane

Jayce Talis is no less a brilliant inventor than his League champion counterpart, despite the ups and downs he’s gone through. By the end of Season 1, everyone has accepted Jayce’s hextech and used it to completely transform Piltover. But hextech can be used for more dangerous things than just making cool hammers and portals.

Notably, Jayce doesn’t appear in any of the Arcane Season 2 trailers. This isn’t surprising, as Arcane likely wants to keep fans guessing whether he lived through Season 1’s cliffhanger or not.

Viktor

Viktor in Arcane.

Before he was a cyborg, Viktor was just a kid from the undercity Zaun trying to rise above his status. With an industrious spirit, skill with hextech, and a timeline set by a terminal illness, he’s always been able to solve any problem he sets his mind to. The problem now? An incomplete self-augmentation with shimmer.

Viktor also hasn’t been seen in any of the trailers for the same reason as Jayce. Given that Viktor in Arcane Season 1 doesn’t quite resemble his League championship counterpart yet, it’s likely that he survives in some sense. But at what cost?

Jinx

League champion Jinx in Arcane.

Jinx has had a pretty hard life in Arcane. Originally called Powder as a child, she watched her first adoptive father Vander die and then killed her second father Silco in a drug-fueled paranoia. It didn’t help that a certain enforcer was hanging around Jinx’s sister. While still the chaotic and impulsive killer many will recognize from League of Legends, Arcane’s Jinx invites fans to root for her redemption during Season 2.

Vi

Vi in Arcane.

Arcane’s Vi is far from perfect, and she knows it. She couldn’t save her parents or Vander, and she ran away from Powder and inadvertently left her to become Jinx. Her biggest motivation for years has been reuniting with Jinx, even if she had to work with an enforcer to do it. Unfortunately, Vi might have to decide if Jinx can be saved from herself.

Caitlyn

League champion Caitlyn in Arcane.

Ever sharp and ever a sharpshooter, Arcane gives League champion Caitlyn a privileged background in Piltover that she’s eager to shed. Caitlyn wants to prove that she’s worthy, not because she’s a Kiramman, but because of her own skill. Plus, unlike the others on her squad, she won’t rest until she discovers exactly what criminal conspiracy is going on down in Zaun. She just needs someone who knows the terrain to lend her a hand.

Heimerdinger

Arcane's Heimerdinger and his pupil, Jayce.

The Heimerdinger featured in Arcane is more cautious than some of his League skin counterparts. While his prior students Jayce and Viktor want to rush ahead with their new hextech, the yordle believes there are limits to what should be risked. Despite his prominence in Piltover as one of the city’s cofounders and preeminent professors, they didn’t listen. If only they had.

Singed

Singed in Arcane.

A prior contemporary of Heimerdinger, Singed has the complete opposite worldview. Just like in League of Legends, the champion is willing to push the limits of his own and others’ humanities in the name of scientific progress. Singed invented the dangerous Zaun drug shimmer that both Viktor and Jinx used, although the latter was unwittingly. Both uses had terrible consequences, but that has never mattered to Singed.

Ekko

Arcane's Ekko in his Firelight skin.

Ekko grew up on the streets of the undercity alongside Vi and Jinx, but he took a different path to adulthood rather than prisoner or murderer. Instead, he and some other abandoned kids founded the Firelights to fight back against Silco and form a safe haven. What Arcane’s Ekko lacks in chrono-magic, he makes up for with an abundance of heart and righteous indignation.

Ambessa Medarda

Future League chamion Ambessa Medarda

While Ambessa Medarda may not be currently in the game, Riot confirmed that she will become a League champion sometime during 2024. Ambessa is a Noxian warlord who wants to get her hands on hextech for her own people. Unlike the “soft-spined” people of Piltover, she isn’t afraid to use force to get what she wants. In fact, she’d prefer it.

Upcoming League champions in Arcane Season 2

In the most recently released Arcane trailer, fans have pointed out two new champions that made brief appearances. While one has been known since early 2024, the other has yet to be officially confirmed.

Warwick

Warwick confirmed for Arcane season 2.

Arcane’s first look back in January 2024 confirmed that the Zaunite monster Warwick will play a part in the second season. Originally a man, Warwick in LoL lore underwent alchemical experiments that caused him to go mad. Fans have been theorizing since before Warwick was announced for the show that he could have been Vander, Jinx and Vi’s surrogate father, beforehand.

LeBlanc

Possibly League champion LeBlanc in Arcane season 2

Many fans suspect that LeBlanc will be the latest League champion to be revealed to be in Arcane. Both the latest trailer and footage leaks from the show itself imply that a magical, underground organization known in LoL as the Black Rose will be a major plot point in the season. Because LeBlanc is the sorceress leader of the Black Rose, Arcane is likely to use her in the show. Other champion options include Elise and Cassiopeia.

Arcane Season 2 airs in November of 2024, at which point fans will get some of their biggest questions answered. Do Jayce, Viktor, and Mel survive the attack on the Piltover council? Will Caitlyn and Vi kiss? What other League champions will feature in Arcane. Only two months left before the answers come out.
