The first semifinals match of BLAST Open Spring 2025 is now set with Eternal Fire taking on MOUZ; here’s how you should approach betting on it.
The Counter-Strike 2 esports scene grinds on and often feels repetitive. The same teams seem to play against more of the same teams again and again, endlessly. But somehow, some way, two of the top squads have managed to avoid each other for a long while.
MOUZ and Eternal Fire are going to throw down for the first time in a while. Here’s everything bettors need to know about this BLAST Open Spring matchup.
Eternal Fire vs MOUZ will take place on March 29, 2025. It is one of two semifinal matches set for the BLAST Open Spring 2025 playoffs. The winner earns a spot in the finals while the loser receives one of two $40,000 third-place prizes.
Eternal Fire earned its way into a Blast Open Spring 2025 semifinals spot by going undefeated in group A. This stemmed from the team defeating Team Liquid, G2 Esports, and NaVi consecutively.
The team’s all-Turkish roster will continue competing in the event:
Eternal Fire has been strong on Anubis, Nuke, and Mirage over the last several months. The team isn’t bad on any particular map either, as its floor is still around the 50% winrate mark.
MOUZ cleared the BLAST Open Spring 2025 group stage by defeating Team Falcons and Team Spirit, but didn’t get the first-round bye in the playoffs after taking a loss from Vitality. It still landed in the quarterfinals and advanced with a 2-0 victory over G2 Esports.
The MOUZ roster remains unchanged since January, when the team added Spinx:
Nuke and Ancient are MOUZ’s best maps, with Nuke in particular being a fearsome map. MOUZ actually closed out its series against G2 with a lopsided beatdown on Nuke. On the flipside, it’s been generally shaky on Dust 2, Mirage, and Inferno and bans Anubis.
Since Counter-Strike 2 launched and CSGO was shuttered, The two have played against each other four times; both teams have won twice. However, this is a relatively fresh matchup in CS2 as the teams last played in August 2024.
MOUZ is the slight betting favorite over Eternal Fire for this BLAST Open Spring 2025 playoffs match. The moneylines read at 1.79 against 2.01. That isn’t actually a coin flip, as that is typically 1.87 apiece, but it’s not too far off.
MOUZ has the better chance of winning this match against Eternal Fire. The lines are right in that this one is really close, but MOUZ has the edge when it comes to its pick and ban practices.
