Fortnite V-Bucks are the most important thing for Epic Games. As a free-to-play game, the in-game currency is the main way for the developers to make money. In short, it is one of the biggest reasons Fortnite still exists today. And they just made a change that might actually help them get more players to buy.

In the past, players had to purchase a specific amount of V-Bucks, and that didn’t change. You could buy 1,000 V-Bucks, 2,800, 5,000, and so on. The more you bought, the more economical it ended up being, but no matter what, you had to buy a substantial amount.
The only other option was to buy them through the Starter Pack in each Fortnite season, and that would come with 600 V-Bucks. The 1,000 for $8.99 and the Starter Pack for $4.49 were the main options to get V-Bucks, and if you only needed 100 or 200, you had to overspend.
That’s no longer the case. According to ShiinaBR, known for Fortnite leaks, you will soon be able to purchase exactly what you need. If you wanted to buy the battle pass, for example, and you had 550 V-Bucks, you can now buy the remaining 400 for $3.99. This update takes place on October 14.

It’s still more economical the more you spend. At that rate, it’s $1 for 100 V-Bucks. But at the 1,000 total, it’s $1 for 111. At the 2,800 level, you’re getting 121 for every dollar. 5,000 translates to 135 per, and the massive 13,500 bundle is at an impressive $1 for 150 V-Bucks rate.
Nevertheless, those options aren’t all the economic. Yes, it’s better value to spend the $9 and get 1,000, but if you only need 500, then you were needlessly spending. Now, Epic is going to give you the chance to spend only what you need.
This will probably result in more sales. Players who hesitated to spend more on extra V-Bucks will now be more inclined to spend something at all since they can spend less and get what they want. It should be a huge win for players and for Epic.
