Envy Gaming officially transitions to OpTic Gaming

  • Envy Gaming merged with OpTic Gaming in late 2021.
  • Envy Gaming has now retired its brand.
  • All Envy teams will now compete under the OpTic Gaming banner.

The merger between Envy Gaming and OpTic Gaming went through last November, but the full-time switch from Envy to OpTic is now complete.

In the most recent episode of The Eavesdrop Podcast, Hector “HECZ” Rodriguez from OpTic and Mike “Hastr0” Rufail from Envy announced that the Envy brand is now retired.

It will be all OpTic, going forward.

Envy Gaming becomes OpTic Gaming

Some of the teams under the Envy umbrella had already switched to the OpTic brand. Namely, Envy’s Halo and Valorant teams were already competing as OpTic.

To make everything fluid, it has all become one – with the exception of the Overwatch team the Dallas Fuel.

Envy may be revived in the future, as Rufail still owns the brand. For now, all of his focus will be on growing OpTic Gaming and continuing the winning ways of both organizations.

Jaxon's Take

Envy has always been one of the more boring brands in gaming, while OpTic has been one of the coolest. I have to say, the swap to OpTic was a no-brainer for the logo and fandom alone.
