CS2 star EliGE parts ways with Complexity, what’s next for 2025?

Complexity EliGE

North American esports organization Complexity has announced that after one and a half years with its CS2 team, popular rifler Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski is leaving.

The American professional Counter-Strike 2 player has been playing for Complexity since 2023. EliGE is arguably among the top CS2 players in the world and has many years of experience in top-level competition. He also has a huge fan following, and many even attempt to copy his settings while playing Counter-Strike 2 to try to replicate some part of his success.

The popular CS2 player was in the news recently when rumors began to circulate about him wanting to join another team’s roster. Now it looks like the rumors might have been true, as Complexity has announced that EliGE is leaving the American side.

EliGE leaves Complexity CS2 roster

Complexity has announced the news of EliGE leaving its CS2 roster in a tweet that thanked the veteran player for his time with the squad.

On January 9, 2025, the Complexity X account broke the news about EliGE leaving the organization. In the tweet, Complexity thanked EliGE for the player’s journey in the organization and wished him well for the future.

The tweet also mentioned the best results EliGE put together with the team. These included the victory at ESL Challenger Jönköping 2024 and the runner-up finish at IEM Sydney 2023. The tweet didn’t mention the semi-final placing at ESL Pro League Season 19. That’s another noteworthy accomplishment EliGE made while on the team.

During the course of the EliGE’s time with the side, Complexity wasn’t able to make any leaps or bounds in its success, so the player’s departure may not have too great an effect on the side’s fortunes. The team only saw one truly significant victory in the player’s tenure, despite some of the varied successes listed.

With EliGE and Ricky “floppy” Kemery also having departed from Complexity recently the organization only has three players remaining. According to reports, Complexity might be looking to sign Danny “cxzi” Strzelczyk and Nick “nicx” Lee to refuel its CS2 roster for 2025 and beyond.

Is EliGE signing with Faze Clan for its 2025 CS2 roster?

EliGE hasn’t confirmed anything about his future, but rumors are circulating that he might sign on to join the FaZe Clan CS2 roster next.

EliGE’s departure announcement coincides with the rumors that FaZe is looking to sign EliGE to take the place of  Robin “ropz” Kool, who left the team. EliGE’s departure from Complexity is now official, so if he signs with a new team an announcement could be made soon.

Complexity had a less than stellar year in 2024 but EliGE personally had a good season of play. He received an EVP award at ESL Pro League Season 19 and was also ranked highly in many year-end lists of top Counter-Strike players around the world, speaking to his continue success and his potential if he should manage to connect with a better squad for the 2025 CS2 season.
