EDward Gaming and T1 will compete in the lower bracket finals of Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 to determine who makes it to the grand final. While EDward Gaming is the favorite going into the match, smart betters may wonder whether T1 has upset potential.
EDward Gaming is the reigning champion of the Valorant Masters series and many assumed the team would reach the grand final uncontested. However, G2 Esports turned out to be the surprise powerhouse team, going undefeated against every squad in the playoff and sending EDG to the lower bracket final.
If EDward Gaming wants another shot at taking down G2, the team must first beat T1. EDG and T1 have performed well in the Valorant Masters Bangkok tournament so far and have cemented their spot in at least the top three. Considering the opposition the two teams faced thus far, EDward Gaming may have the upper hand.
Although EDG and T1 are confirmed to be in the Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 top three, only one team can make it all the way to the finals. EDG has been on a roll. Not only did the team breeze through the opposition in the VCT 2025: China Kickoff event, but it was also leading the pack for a good here at Masters Bangkok.
On the other hand, T1 has displayed inconsistent performance. While the team has made it to the lower bracket finals, EDG was the team that sent T1 to the lower brackets on the first day. After losing to EDG, T1 lost the first game against Team Vitality before making an impressive comeback and winning the match.
Below are the rosters for both teams in the upcoming match:
EDward Gaming
T1
T1 is fairly consistent with its agent pool, opting to go with picks like Cypher, Sova, Omen, Iso, Yoru, and Raze. While the team opted to mix things against EDG during the semifinals, sticking close to what the team knows best worked out well against Vitality.
On the other hand, EDward Gaming doesn’t have many agents it’s opted to prioritize during the playoffs. Tejo is the one agent the squad will want to secure for every game. The initiator played a huge role in EDG’s victory against T1. Tejo played an equally large role in EDG’s defeat against G2 during the upper bracket final as G2 opted to utilize the initiator while EDG failed to do so.
EDG and T1 have met on the big stage six times. Each team has three wins and three losses with a 50% win rate, even if T1 has won one more game than EDG. The last time the two teams met was during the Masters Bangkok 2025 playoff, where EDG won the match with two games won compared to T1’s single victory.
While EDG is the favorite to win the upcoming match, it isn’t by much. EDG is at 1.72 odds while T1 is on an even 2, showcasing T1’s strength as a powerhouse team despite its loss against EDG in the semifinals.
T1 has much potential as a team. However, its recent inconsistent performance have left something to be desired. T1 has a habit of losing the first game in a series as happened against Team Vitality, and it wouldn’t be farfetched to assume the same may happen here. T1 was initially able to shut down Tejo using the utility of Vyse and KAY/O, and this experience may get T1 the second game.
EDG’s CHICHOO and nobody are forces to be reckoned with. Bringing the same heat the two did in previous games during this match may mean EDward Gaming goes on to win the series. VCT Masters has proven how much of an impact Tejo can have, and the fact that T1 hasn’t used the initiator even once during the playoffs may be the deciding factor for this match.
