Ahead of Gamescom 2025, DXRacer and game publisher MicroProse have confirmed a partnership to release a new custom-designed gaming chair in support of acclaimed strategy game Forgotten but Unbroken.
Gamescom has done a lot to fill the hole left by E3’s closure in 2023. That was on full display in 2024, with a long list of major reveals across the video game industry, ranging from Borderlands 4 to the Secret Level series, came about through Gamescom. It isn’t just about games though, as new pieces of hardware, peripherals, and accessories are also a big part of the event.
Enter DXRacer. The famed gaming chair manufacturer will be in attendance for the event and part of the festivities is its new piece based on the game Forgotten but Unbroken.
DXRacer confirmed a collab chair with MicroProse and Centurion Developments, the respective publisher and developer behind Forgotten but Unbroken. The new gaming chair based on the game will be available to try on the Gamescom 2025 floor alongside preview builds that feature new content for the game that already has its fans excited.
“Forgotten but Unbroken is a game that resonates with history enthusiasts and strategy gamers alike. We’re thrilled to collaborate with MicroProse and Centurion Developments to bring this experience to life in a new way,” DXRacer said in a press release. “Our custom gaming chairs are designed to provide the ultimate comfort for long gaming sessions, and we can’t wait for fans to experience it firsthand.”
Forgotten but Unbroken is a turn-based strategy game in the vein of XCOM and Advance Wars. The key distinction is that it brings the focus to the historical events of World War 2. While there’s no shortage of games based on that period of time, Forgotten but Unbroken brings the focus specifically to the many “forgotten” heroes of the conflict. Instead of storming Normandy or Okinawa in theaters of war that history has best remembered, the focus here is on smaller skirmishes and stealth missions taken on by hardy and determined resistance fighters.
The game was officially launched in November 2024, and MicroProse has continued to support it with balance patches and new content since its initial full release.
The move to team with MicroProse and Centurion Developments is the latest in a long line of DXRacer partnerships to create eye-catching custom gaming chairs. DXRacer has previously shipped gaming chairs based on such iconic franchises as Final Fantasy, game of the year candidates like Metaphor: ReFantazio, and enduring genre staples including Guild Wars 2. It’s not just game publishers DXRacer works with either, as the company has also worked with major esports organizations including FaZe Clan, and iconic tournaments and events like Evo.
