One of the most anticipated matches during the upcoming third week of VCT Pacific Stage 1 is Kiwoom DRX vs Global Esports. These two teams have shocked the VCT Pacific region with their current run of form and have remained undefeated so far.

Before the start of VCT Pacific Stage 1, in our preview piece, we had mentioned to keep an eye on Global Esports. This was due to the performance of the team in the previous competition. They lost to Paper Rex twice, resulting in the team failing to qualify for VALORANT Masters Santiago.
In the ongoing tournament, the team has been on a winning streak, defeating the likes of Gen G and Team Secret. It must be stated that the winner of this match will qualify for the VCT Pacific Stage 1 playoffs, something which GE has never achieved.
On the other side, we have DRX. Following the signing of their academy player Kim “yong” Ho-yong, the team has been undefeated. Yong is currently the highest-rated Chamber player in VCT Pacific.
Similar to Global Esports, DRX were eliminated by Paper Rex in the previous competition. Currently, both teams sit higher than Paper Rex in Group Alpha.
One major factor for DRX performing the manner they are is due to the team’s performance on defense. The team has had a 64%-win rate on defensive rounds following the spike being planted. One of the reasons for this is the team’s clinical approach of using abilities on the post-plant.
Going into this match between DRX and Global Esports, both teams are undefeated in VCT Pacific Stage 1. Surprisingly, the betting websites still believe that DRX are the favorites to win this match.
One important reason for this is that Global Esports has never defeated DRX.
