Just by number of teams involved, DreamLeague Season 27 is one of the biggest tournaments in the calendar, and as a result, we’ve seen some incredible performances. From another standout run from OG, to the collapse and underperformance of team like MOUZ, Team Liquid, and Tidebound, there’s been plenty of surprises. But in the end, we’re left with three dominant teams that no one should be surprised to find in these finals.
What has perhaps defined the teams who are heading into the Grand Finals more than anything has been veteran leadership. Yandex, helmed by Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, and PARIVISION, coached by Clement “Puppey” Ivanov, have shown remarkable adaptablity. In the face of a patch which flipped the script, releasing midway through the tournament, PVISION, Team Spirit, and Yandex have endured through consistency and mechanical skill. But come the finals, their execution will have to be flawless to win the day.

Team Yandex has been almost flawless at DreamLeague Season 27. With Saksa filling in (a decision that Tundra Esports must be regretting), the team has solidified into one of the most dominant teams in Dota 2. After squeezing into the top eight, they defeated Virtus.pro and then upset Tundra Esports in the upper-bracket to reach the upper-bracket final. Their momentum continued with convincing 2-0 sweep of Team Spirit to secure a spot in the grand final.
But that 2-0 doesn’t tell the full story. These were tight games that could have gone either way. Throughout the event, standout performances, especially from Ilya “CHIRA_JUNIOR” Chirtsov and the team’s aggressive coordination, has set the tone. It’s hard to believe this is Yandex’s breakthrough event. Two months ago they were slumming it in DreamLeague Division 2. Now they could win it all.
PARIVISION has delivered a strong DreamLeague Season 27 campaign. In the group stage they swept teams like Nigma Galaxy, showcasing control and coordinated play. And in the playoffs, PARIVISION eliminated OG in the lower-bracket quarterfinal with a 2–1 win and then swept Xtreme Gaming 2-0 to reach the lower-bracket final. But this is a team with some flaws. Their strength has come from being better coached and led than many of their opponents.
No one doubts their skill, but this is still a team who occasionally fails to perform under pressure. They’ll have to overcome earlier setbacks they faced against Team Spirit in group play. If they can consistently defeat Team Spirit, nothing is stopping them from winning it all.
Team Spirit has had a strong showing at DreamLeague Season 27, fighting their way out of the the Swiss-system group stage with solid results and multiple early wins, including an impressive 2-1 victory over Team Liquid that effectively sent their long-time rivals out of the tournament. Their group stage consistency helped them advance into the playoffs, where expectations were high given their pedigree. However, Spirit were upset by Team Yandex upper-bracket finals losing 2-0 in a scoreline that doesn’t quite tell the story.
Even so, this is not the Team Spirit we’ve come to expect from years of dominance on their part. Without the guidance of Yaroslav “Miposhka” Naidenov, the squad has lost a step
