Epic Games Creative Director, Donald Mustard, has taken to Instagram to hype-up future content for the end of Season 7 into Season 8.
While promoting the Fortnite X DC comic books, Mustard smiled, slyly, and told his followers that he and the team has some "amazing, crazy stuff" planned for the near future.

I'm inclined to take him at his word, here. Fortnite has had some of the wildest events and lore in all of gaming.
We're still waiting for the payoff on the simulation and loop storylines. Could we finally get some answers or will our long list of questions continue to grow?
Either way, we'll be watching The Mothership closely as the end of Season 7 nears.
