Tomorrow, Disguised goes up against Cloud9 in the LCS Spring Split. With only seven matches in the split, one series means an entire spot in the rankings. While Cloud9 is the scariest team during every regular season, Disguised has been in promising form. Can they beat NA’s favorite?
Betting tip: Cloud9 is the heavy favorite in this match-up. In the regular season, they also aren’t a team that loses to underdogs. This makes C9 a safe bet for this series.

C9 is a team of veterans and they play like one. While they’re far from perfect, they tend to always find one way to grab control over the game.
Sometimes, they steamroll the early game. Other times, it’s dragon steal or mid-game teamfights. Then once they do have a lead, they hold it until they win.
No matter what happens, they’re always that consistent in the regular season. Cloud9 somehow finishes in the top 2 or even first each split, until playoffs hit and they start crumbling down.
That being said, they keep winning with shaky gameplay. C9 does not present gameplay on the level of a first-place team, and each win they get feels like it warrants an asterisk next to it. However, a win is a win still, and these victories with asterisks keep stacking up despite the disbelief.
Disguised is the opposite of Cloud9. As a very recent newcomer in the LCS, their roster is even younger still. In their short tenure with that line-up, they’ve shown a level that’s good but clearly not enough.
On the other hand, Disguised’s latest series in the Esports World Cup qualifier showed promise. Cho “Castle” Hyeon-seong and Christian “KryRa” Rahaian took turns as centerpieces of the squad, and if they’re all in great form, they can avoid showing C9 weaknesses to exploit.
That’s a big if, though. Many parameters need to line up for Cloud9 to lose this series.

If Disguised wins, it’ll be a major upset – and a big deal to put them ahead of the other middle-of-the-pack teams in the LCS Spring Split. The one factor that might shake things up is the EWC Qualifiers running alongside the LCS. This gives teams more matches to prepare for each week, and C9 has to take these qualifiers seriously, more than DSG does.
All in all though, the Cinderella story shouldn’t happen and Cloud9 should take the win.
