Discord voice chat is finally coming to Xbox

  • Xbox Insiders can now Discord voice chat
  • The feature will roll out to other players in the coming weeks
  • The update allows players on PC, mobile, and Xbox to chat

Discord voice chat has come to Xbox, – Xbox Insiders at least. According to the blog post, the feature will roll out to everyone sometime in the next few weeks, though an exact date wasn’t provided.

The highly anticipated addition to Microsoft’s console will allow players to chat with one another across various platforms. Whether your friends are playing on another Xbox, PC, or mobile, you can now chat with one another.

All you have to do is join their voice channel, and you’re good to go.

The Discord integration allows you to adjust the sound and switch between Discord Voice and Xbox game chat if needed.

Xbox Insiders can now enjoy Discord Voice chat

To get started, you will need to link your Discord account to your Xbox. Instructions are available in the previously mentioned blog post.

Even if you’ve previously linked the two accounts, you will need to do so again for the new update.

The integration of Discord voice chat will be warmly welcomed by players. Microsoft voice chat – on all platforms – is notoriously bad. Discord’s features like noise suppression will improve player experience on both PC and Xbox.

Jaxon's Take

THANK GOD! Soon, the days of muting my PC friends in the Xbox chat while using Discord on the side are over. We can all coexist in one party without hearing every key press on my friend's PC.
