Vtuber agency Nijisanji is accused of a leak of private photos and videos of vtubers to third parties without the consent of the included vtubers.
The popular vtuber agency Nijisanji has made news for multiple reasons of late. Whether it is for falling stock prices, vtubers such as Michi and Hex Haywire graduating, or for its questionable handling of the termination of some ex-vtubers. The agency has been in the news for the wrong reasons, and now multiple reports have seen Nijisanji accused of delayed payments, breach of contracts, and other supposed wrongdoings.
It looks like Nijisanji is on a roll and instead of getting any positive press to counter it, there’s more worry news coming in. New accusations have surfaced by a Japanese YouTuber who claims that Nijisanji allegedly is the source of a leak of photos and videos of its vtubers taken without their consent.
Japanese YouTuber korekore has accused popular vtuber agency Nijisanji of allegedly providing video leaks featuring vtubers who hide their faces while streaming.
In an X post, prominent Japanese YouTuber korekore has accused “those associated with Nijisanji” of allegedly recording and photographing vtubers and sharing their media with third parties. Korekore doesn’t elaborate on who he is exactly accusing, so it’s hard to pinpoint without further clarification.
Korekore claims that the vtubers don’t know that they are being recorded or photographed and that it’s done secretly. The YouTuber further elaborated that this is a huge breach of privacy, especially since the vtubers being recorded don’t show their faces on streams and some even graduate without ever doing a face reveal.
Korekore claimed that the recorded media was being used to make fun of the vtubers. Their appearances were being ridiculed while the vtubers were kept oblivious to anything happening.
It’s important to note that these claims come without any hard evidence and as such can’t yet be confirmed or substantiated. However, korekore claimed in the X post that proof of these alleged violations will be shared soon. The YouTuber states that he will conduct a live stream on September 1, 2024, in which he’ll dive deeper into the allegations. Until then, the claims will stand on their own and fans will be left to pass judgment without the context of meaningful proof.
