League of Legends streamer and former pro Isak “NattyNatt” Elgh reportedly streams sniped during NNO Cup 2024, and nobody is happy about it.
Like any multiplayer game since time immemorial, League of Legends has its fair share of cheaters. According to Riot, one out of every fifteen games will feature a cheater with some regions boasting one out of every five. These numbers are part of why Riot implemented the controversial anti-cheat software Vanguard into its games. Still, cheaters always find a way to prosper in League of Legends, which unfortunately extends to tournaments. The NNO Cup 2024, organized by the esports organization No Need Orga, featured popular streamers and personalities from League of Legends.
NattyNatt was one such personality at NNO Cup, and unfortunately for the errant player, they got caught with their hand in the proverbial cookie jar.
NattyNatt reportedly admitted to stream sniping during NNO Cup 2024 in a clip posted by another player.
“I got inside information, I heard about this actually because I went into the stream for half a second before last game. They were talking about [Twisted Fate.] They go TF and Quinn,” said NattyNatt in conversation with their team.
The statement immediately drew the ire of League of Legends fans and fellow competitors alike. Drew “Midbeast” Timbs posted a clip of the conversation on social media and tagged NNO Cup organizers, claiming NattyNatt was guilty of blatant misconduct. Many of Midbeast’s fans agreed in the thread, some even saying NNO should throw out the game in light of the cheating allegations.
NattyNatt responded to these allegations, but it didn’t exactly put out the fire.
NattyNatt claims they say “a lot of bulls–t” to hype up the stream, implying the insider information comment was just a bit.
The streamer alleges the conversation was not actually a case of stream sniping, but referring to a random chatter’s message. The chatter sent messages stating “tf quinn comp now,” but in the end, the new information only stokes the flames of the controversy.
Many esports fans pointed out how strange it was for NattyNatty to actively look at chat during the draft meeting, where chatters may reveal information about the other team. As of this article’s writing, the NNO Cup organizers have not responded to the allegations against NattyNatt.
