Popular Call of Duty streamer Nadeshot stated in a stream that he’s stepping away from Call of Duty, and fans may wonder if he will retire permanently.
Many known streamers owe their rise to fame to Call of Duty. From the FaZe Clan to Nadia and TimTheTatman, Call of Duty is constantly associated with these streamers. Another prominent name in the Call of Duty scene is Nadeshot. Being the co-owner and CEO of 100 Thieves, alongside having a storied past in professional gaming, the streamer understandably has a large following.
However, it seems Nadeshot is stepping away from Call of Duty because of various issues with the game. Long-time fans will want to know whether Nadeshot is permanently retiring from the Call of Duty franchise.
More importantly for some, they want to know what games Nadeshot will play next.
Nadeshot is taking a break from Black Ops 6 because of several game-related issues. The CEO of 100 Thieves stated on a stream that the state of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was unplayable. The streamer owed his break to network problems, frequent cheaters, and game-breaking bugs. According to him, the game has no “integrity” and playing Black Ops 6 is “a primitive experience” because of the low server tick rate.
It’s important to note that Nadeshot clearly stated he doesn’t intend to retire from Call of Duty or even Black Ops 6 specifically. He claims the game’s core mechanics are enjoyable, but he won’t play the game every day and will try to introduce other games into his streams.
Nadeshot isn’t the first streamer to call out Activision for not fixing issues with Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Unlike most, Nadeshot has a massive following, which could certainly influence perception of the game online. Many long-time fans stopped playing the game thanks to the unnaturally high number of hackers in ranked play. Nadeshot’s feelings validated the feelings of his fans too. While Activision acknowledged its anti-cheat initiative RICOCHET hasn’t been effective, no concrete details were shared regarding what fans can expect from the game’s future.
Nadeshot played Marvel Rivals on his stream after the announcement that he was taking a break from Call of Duty.
The streamer stated Marvel Rivals was fun, and there was “something there” for his fans to be happy about. While Nadeshot started the game as Hela, he claimed he’d try out more characters, suggesting Marvel Rivals may be in the cards for the streamer’s future content.
Marvel Rivals isn’t the only game Nadeshot wants to try. Escape From Tarkov and Fortnite are some games the streamer name-dropped during his stream. Additionally, he made a poll on X asking fans what they want to see him play.
While the poll only had Fortnite and Marvel Rivals, which Marvel Rivals won, a fan in the replies suggested he try Balatro. Nadeshot initially dismissed the 2024 Game of the Year nominee because of its low Twitch viewer count but eventually sent a screenshot showing he purchased it. This suggests fans may see some Balatro Nadeshot streams too.
One game Nadeshot completely shut down is Valorant. While the former professional player used to stream Valorant regularly, he has since stopped. According to him, he can’t comfortably say he’ll enjoy playing Valorant if he picks it up now.
