While vtuber Apricot the Lich, better known as Froot, came forward with her story of abuse, other allegations also emerged that she cheated on an ex-partner.
Froot is one of the first members of Vshojo and has amassed over 240,000 YouTube subscribers since debuting in 2020. As she has continued to grow, an ex decided to come forward with cheating allegations. After catching wind of the accusations, content creators including Zack “Asmongold” Hoyt decided to do some digging of their own and make YouTube videos outlining the accusations, which include Froot cheating on him with multiple men while he was deployed.
Did Froot actually cheat on her ex?
Froot’s abuse story was prompted by allegations that she cheated on a former partner, which has caused an uproar in the vtuber community.
In response to the ongoing allegations, Froot decided to share her own version of the relationship on September 18. This included a 90-page document that claimed emotional and sexual abuse. Froot alleges that the former partner isolated her from her family, threatened to kill himself if she ever left, and claimed he’d cheat on her if she didn’t agree to have sex with him. At another point, her ex allegedly blamed her for getting molested.
In response to the abuse claims, people online asked Froot if she actually cheated on him or not. Some accused her of making up the abuse after getting caught cheating so she wouldn’t look bad. At the same time, other fans stood up for her, explaining that there was never any evidence to back this up.
The accusations still didn’t let up, however, with many condemning Froot for cheating and trying to deflect with her own story. These narratives have continued all over the internet. Some are even claiming Froot created the accusations to stay relevant after her views started declining.
While many seem to have made up their mind that Froot cheated on her ex-boyfriend, it has not been confirmed or proven. Her ex even admitted he took her to court and the case was let go due to a lack of evidence. For now, it’s unclear if Froot was faithful or if the cheating allegations are a continuation of his abuse years later.
