Suzuya Aki was a first-generation Nijisanji vtuber who graduated and has now announced his re-debut as independent vtuber Izuho Omi.
Nijisanji has seen some of its highest graduations in the year 2024. Kunai Nakasato, Mika Melatika, Hex Haywire, and more have either announced their graduation or retired. Along with talent leaving, Nijisanji has made the headlines for falling stock prices and alleged leaked pictures of talents.
Suzuya Aki was an OG vtuber from Nijisanji’s first generation who debuted in January 2018 and graduated on August 31, 2024. Neither the company nor the streamer gave any reason for his departure. However, Suzuya Aki is returning as Izuho Omi to the delight of his fans.
The ex-Nijisanji talent Suzuya Aki announced his re-debut as Izuho Omi on his new YouTube channel.
Omi posted a teaser video on YouTube to announce his return to streaming as an independent vtuber. The vtuber was popular among his fans for his song covers so he’ll likely share covers on YouTube. The streamer also posted on X announcing the exact time of his re-debut broadcast.
Omi’s return is great news for fans as his graduation meant fans wouldn’t be able to hear his voice and he wouldn’t stream new songs. Some fans had the vtuber’s old songs downloaded but his channel being made private caused issues for others.
Omi hasn’t shared why he chose to re-debut as Omi similar to how he hadn’t shared one for his graduation, but the vtuber might give insight in his re-debut broadcast.
While Omi has only teased his return and shared a time for the broadcast, he hasn’t given any details yet. However, it is possible the vtuber returned for his fans who were missing him and his songs. The support and love fans give their vtubers is hard to replicate.
Alternatively, looking at how Suzuya Aki left Nijisanji and returned as independent vtuber Izuho Omi, there is the possibility of conflict with the company. Izuho Omi’s re-debut highlights that the streamer wanted to make his own rules. Vtubers have to follow the rules set by their agency and can’t go against the norm, but independent creators have more freedom.
