The Boston Major was superb.
One of the best, in fact. A dramatic final, a hometown hero run, NiKo losing… it truly had everything you could possibly want from a Major.
But that’s done now, and Dallas has shown us that the US isn’t ready to host a big tournament again.
Isn’t it great that what should have been a massive tournament now has teams like MIBR and Movistar Riders in it?
Isn’t it great that one of the few good teams left can’t play with their star player?
While some of the absences are understandable, the European events seemed to have no issues with Spinx and NaVi, This has been a consistent issue with NA events – good players being unable to get VISAs, jetlag and weird timezones.
There’s basically one NA team who get into the second day. Why do we all have to shift our sleeping patterns for this?

Until we’ve been through every single other country, the United States should not be allowed another Major.
Imagine if the Major was plagued with the issues we’ve just seen at Dallas – NaVi not allowed in and ENCE without their best player. Quite literally 11 of the 20 semi-finalists at this Major wouldn’t be allowed in the country.
Think about that for a second.
That ignores a lot of other issues with the US, but as an intergalactic space being from the ethereal plane, it’s not really my place to talk on human affairs outside of esports.
North America has shown an inability to get better at Counter-Strike, and there’s no way on Earth (or any other planet, trust me) that they will be ready to compete for another title any time soon; so it’s not like they deserve it for being a home of Counter-Strike.
USA is about as important in CS as the UK now.
While Brazil at least boasts an impressive history and an encouraging future in the game, the USA has won half as many Majors and is now a VALORANT-only country.
Brazil is still relatively annoying given it’s impossible to get a ticket for the event, the commentary inside the arena isn’t in English and is on a similar timezone; but at least it’s Brazil. They care about CS, they’ve created some of the best players of all time and are still producing great teams.
They can have their one. I might even say Australia should get one, largely as I’d love to see Mac and Pilski cast a Major game.
USA is about as important in CS as the UK now, and both should only get one Major until we run out of other reasonable countries. They’ve both had one, so smell ya later, losers.
