The aftermath of the match between Heroic and Astralis, our Match of the Day in the ESL Pro League, has resulted in spicy verbal sparring on Twitter.
It all started with Astralis’ in-game leader Lukas “Gla1ve” Rossander reminiscing about his loss. He said he was “glad it wasn’t an important match like a quarter-final in Denmark in front of 10.000 Astralis fans,” referencing their previous encounter in the BLAST Fall finals.
Back in December last year, Astralis took down Heroic in the quarter-finals of the event, with Heroic’s captain Casper “cadiaN” Moller saying that the winner of the game would have bragging rights over the other for months to come.
cadiaN was swift in his response, taking a dig at the alleged advantage Astralis had in that match.
Missing that crowd and that opponent’s has to play two bo3s a day while you rest? 😉 https://t.co/2ytzicRVBT

While Gla1ve is usually pretty reserved on social media, he couldn’t pass on the opportunity to point out the difference in the prize cabinet of the two in-game leaders: “Bragging rights for years, come back when u win a real tournament.”
But cadiaN had the last laugh, pointing out Astralis’ 9 lost matchpoints of the day in his final rebuttal.
That’s also the surprising part for me. A 4 time major winning IGL throwing a 15-7 lead as T on overpass. GGs. https://t.co/nwkyLdxj3g

Let’s hope these two teams meet each other in the playoffs of EPL, as we all could do with some Twitter drama from time to time.
