CS2 is a game that takes visuals and mechanics to the next level on Valve’s Source 2 engine, but a beautiful game doesn’t necessarily require high minimum system requirements.
It is widely known that CSGO was a game that could run on a below-average computer. However, when it was first released in 2012, players still had to make multiple upgrades to fully enjoy the game. After a decade, Valve finally rolled out the highly-anticipated engine swap with Counter-Strike 2. With it came a significant increase in minimum system requirements, which remain a real headache for players with less-than-stellar machines.
Although some aspiring CS2 players will need an upgrade, it won’t force them to break the bank by buying a powerful computer.
Here are the minimum system requirements to run CS2.
It’s worth noting that meeting the minimum system requirements does not necessarily ensure a super smooth gaming experience at high graphic settings. Instead, it would merely allow a system to run the game at a decent FPS on low settings. Expect under or 100 FPS after tweaking in-game visuals to medium or low.
For a game like CS2, which is mechanically heavy and aim-focused, it’s recommended to go a bit higher than minimum system requirements. FPS can be a game-changer in a tactical shooter game, and players always want to squeeze full juice out of an optimal build to achieve high FPS.
For this purpose, we recommend the following specs to run CS2.
Try to upgrade a computer to specs closer to this in order to achieve a good FPS at medium to low settings. Players can always crank up the visuals to high for better aesthetics, but generally, it’s better to prioritize frame rates over visuals to quickly rank up in CS2.
