CS2 map Palais has a secret room, here’s where it is

Palais is hands down the most creative map in CS2, and while the cats might seem like the highlight, the real surprise lies in discovering the secret room.

Set in the heart of Paris, Palais offers a stunning backdrop that blends natural beauty with antique architecture. However, its charm might pose a challenge for competitive players, who could find themselves distracted by the map’s depth and beauty. However, that’s not the only reason Palais has quickly become a fan favorite. The map introduced Counter-Strike 2’s first cat, who loves roaming around the location. The map offers more than just its feline companions. The creator included an interesting easter egg inviting players to uncover a secret room within Palais. However, finding it can be tricky, and some players might get lost along the way.

Here’s how to unlock the hidden room in Palais.

How to find the hidden room in Palais

The hidden room on Palais is located inside the building toward lower mid. Unlocking it requires two keys, one wrench, and interacting with a jammer. Each key is used to open small boxes, which ultimately provide access to the main door key.

To find the first key, go towards the middle area and walk inside the red-carpeted hotel. There will be a smaller bedroom in front of the white door. Find a letter with a heart stamp on the stand and press E on it to reveal a key. Interact again to pick up the key.

This key will be used downstairs in the mailboxes. With both keys, press E while aiming at the one on the bottom left to unlock another key. Now, go back out in the middle and find the generator with lots of buttons on it. Interact twice while looking at the red jammers. We don’t know what this step is for, but it’s necessary to unlock the room.

Now, go back to the CT spawn and press E on the white box under the glass counter to unlock a new key. This is the master key that will unlock the easter egg. To do that, run back to the apartments and press E while looking at the white door.

Once completed, players will be spawned inside a dark room, where the mischievous Palais cat can be spotted that keeps changing locations. This is the perfect opportunity to get a closer look at the cat and begin multiple new quests to unlock more Palais easter eggs.
