


Finn “karrigan” Andersen revealed to his fans on X that his brother passed away a few days before the Shanghai Major 2024 RMR.
karrigan has been competing professionally since 2006 and is currently 34 years old, which makes him one of the oldest professional esports players. karrigan is a legend in the CS2 esports scene as the captain of FaZe Clan. The player has achieved much success and won many prizes in his mission to become the best CS2 player. However, karrigan has given some unfortunate news.
After the FaZe clan secured spots at Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024, the CS2 legend karrigan revealed that his brother passed away and he would be flying home for his brother’s funeral.
FaZe CS2 captain karrigan announced the death of his brother on his X account and informed his fans he would be traveling back home for the funeral.
In his tweet, karrigan stated that it was tough for the CS2 player to deal with the unexpected death of his brother on top of the ongoing and stressful Counter-Stike tournament. He said he missed his elder brother dearly and hoped that he was in a better place now.

The CS2 player found much support from other players and fans, who commented on his tweet to offer their condolences. For instance, fellow FaZe player Robin “ropz” Kool told karrigan “We got your back.” Competing CS2 sponsor Natus Vincere also commented to offer its condolences, telling Karrigan to “stay strong.”
In a follow-up tweet, karrigan informed his fans that he’ll be traveling back to his home for the funeral. He also stated that he knows his brother would have wanted karrigan to push through the grief and give his best in the tournament. karrigan stated that he would honor his brother by playing his heart out in the major.
The announcement of karrigan’s brother’s death came after FaZe Clan won the tiebreaker and reached the elimination stage. The next stage of the major will start on December 5. While this is an unfortunate and tragic incident for the CS2 player, it looks like he’ll try to come out strong to honor his brother.
