CS2 now has charms that add an extra oomph to plain skins. They are relatively cheap, cute, and anyone can get them.
The Armory pass is the first major cosmetic update in Counter-Strike 2, and while it’s not technically an operation, players are treating it as one. To unlock items in this battle pass-like update, players must spend a minimum of $16 and then invest hours of gameplay to claim various skins, charms, and stickers. But fans are more than willing to do all yof that because Armory items are a class apart, specifically the charms.
The Armory pass offers two types of charms with the Missing Link and Small Arms collections. Curious about the difference? Keep reading to discover what sets them apart, along with everything else worth knowing about charms in CS2.
There are 17 Missing Link charms in CS2 that are basically tiny sausagemen.
Nobody knows how Valve came up with this idea, but these charms are criminally cute and come in different paint seeds. Some paint seeds are more desirable because they showcase better or rarer parts of the pattern, like the blue version of the Missing Link Chicken Lil charm, which is quite rare. Here are all 17 Missing Link charms in CS2.
Chicken Lil is already making waves for the blue variant that only a few lucky players have been able to land, whereas Lil Ava is pretty popular among charm collectors.
Diamond Dog is also reselling at a good rate among other coveted charms in the Missing Link collection.
Hot Wurst and Hot Howl are also highly valuable and look pretty cool on bright-colored skins like Printstream, but they can get you a good return on Steam Market as well.
Small Arms charms are exactly what the name suggests—miniature versions of weapons. These keychain-like charms are made from 100% recycled weapons. According to Valve, they are “a keepsake of guns past.”
The Armory pass introduces a total of 16 tiny guns as keychains that also come in different paint seeds. From AK-47s to knives, several weapon skins come in this charm bundle.
Charm detachment packs in CS2 are not free, but patient players can also get them in weekly drops.
Players need to buy a Charm Detachment Pack for $1 from the in-game store to reuse a charm. Each pack contains three keys, with one key consumed every time a charm is removed from a weapon. Essentially, a single pack allows for three charm removals. Thankfully, players receive a free Detachment Pack with every charm, allowing them to equip it on three different weapons.
Spending $1 on a charm detachment pack can be costly for regular players. Fortunately, these packs can be earned for free through weekly drops. To claim one, simply choose the Charm Detachment Pack as your reward when it’s available, and you’ll receive three keys. However, the chance of it appearing each week is random, so it may not always be an option. Unfortunately, this is the only way to get it for free.
Players can unlock CS2 charms by purchasing the Armory pass at $16 and earning three credits to unlock a single charm.
Charms are unlocked at random by using the credits earned by pass holders. Each CS2 charm costs three credits to unlock, which is not exactly cheap. Each credit loads up after 300 XP is earned, which means players will need to put in plenty of time to earn Overpass skins worth four credits each. However, if you’re lucky enough, a rare paint seed can fetch anywhere between $20 and $80 on the CS2 marketplace.
Here’s a breakdown of how to earn Armory credits quickly.
Keep in mind that Armory passes and credits are non-transferable and cannot be sold on the Steam Community Market.
