Complexity was generally expected to cruise through the first group stage of the major, but that hasn’t panned out. Issues at the border have seen the team’s top player forced out of the event, and a substitute stepping in. That handicap has likely contributed to Complexity’s 1-2 start at the tournament, and it could open the door for Tyloo to extend its lifespan in the event.
Betting tip: Roll with Complexity Gaming, whether that’s a moneyline or something more specific.
Complexity Gaming was regarded as one of the best teams in the BLAST Austin Major’s first group stage. In fact, many had the team as one of the best options to pick for a 3-0 spot in the event pass pick’ems. But after losses to OG and NRG, it’s worth taking stock on Complexity.
First and foremost, it’s worth noting that Complexity is playing a man down. Paytyn “junior” Johnson is in to replace Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli and he is clearly struggling. He’s the lowest-rated player on Complexity, but the numbers show larger issues with the team in Austin.
Ioannis “JT” Theodosiou is the top-rated player on Complexity. The in-game leader being the top performer on a team is rarely a good sign, and that’s the case here. hallzerk and Michael “Grim” Wince are usually the spearhead for Complexity, and Grim is significantly under-performing for the team relative to his norm. Though hallzerk’s absence puts an asterisk on any struggles for the team in general, it does speak to diminished chances in this event.
Tyloo may or may not be able to take advantage of that, though. Chen “Moseyuh” Qianhao has posted a strong individual effort in the BLAST Austin Major thus far that has buoyed the team as most of the roster underperform. If the rest of Tyloo can step up, it could spell disaster for Complexity.

Complexity and Tyloo have not yet played each other in Counter-Strike 2. The only time these two organizations played against each other was in 2019 at the StarLadder Berlin Major. Complexity won 2-0, but that match doesn’t have any bearing on this matchup six years later.
Complexity Gaming is 1-2 in the BLAST Austin Major, and is coming in off a competitive run in IEM Melbourne.
Tyloo is also 1-2 in the major so far, but flew to Austin after grinding in APAC regional play in May:
