The Comeback: Cloud9 sign Gambit roster




In a shocking announcement, Cloud9 has returned to Counter-Strike. The North-American organization has signed the n0w former Gambit roster, who had been playing under the "Players" name since early May.

A year after releasing its previous roster, rumors about a potential return of Cloud9 have been circling ever since. The organization stated at the time that it would be open to a potential return if the right opportunity presented itself.

They now have found this opportunity in the Gambit roster.

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Gambit hasn't been allowed to compete in international events, with the players taking part in BLAST, ESL, and Major events under the 'Players' banner.

Rumors about the roster being transfer-listed started spreading ever since.

Cloud9 has a long-standing history in CS:GO, winning the ELEAGUE Boston Major in 2018. But since they struggled to reach similar heights, even after rebuilding a European roster dubbed the 'Colossus'.

The roster will make its debut in their new blue jerseys at the PGL Antwerp Major, after qualifying through the EU RMR with a flawless 3-0 record.
